OneBeat is a premier multinational music exchange initiative by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The organization uses collaborative music creation to foster civic discourse.
The OneBeat Music Residency Program offers various activities aimed at demonstrating how artists, communities, and institutions can collaborate to rejuvenate local economies and enhance civic engagement through technology, music, and creative arts.

Program Overview
OneBeat 2025 invites applications for a month-long U.S.-based music exchange, bringing together 25 musicians from eligible countries and territories. During this intensive residency, OneBeat Fellows will have the opportunity to write, produce, and perform original music, and develop strategies for arts-based community engagement. Following the residency, Fellows will tour a U.S. region, performing for diverse audiences, collaborating with local musicians, and leading workshops with youth and community organizations.
Throughout the exchange, OneBeat musicians will also develop projects for their home countries that highlight the power of musical collaboration and civic engagement in addressing shared community challenges.
