Senior Community Grants Support & Performance Officer Needed at NHSBT

NHS Blood and Transplant (BT) is currently seeking a Senior Community Grants Support and Performance Officer to support their unique Community Grants Programme. The programme works with a wide network of inspiring community partners who are leading powerful, grassroots work to raise awareness and inspire donation – and this role plays a key part in supporting and showcasing that impact.
As a Senior Community Grants Support and Performance Officer, you will be providing effective operational support and performance management of the Community Grants Programme, working closely with the Community Engagement Grants Manager. This includes leading on the day-to-day operations of the programme, alongside overseeing and implementing clear, effective processes to manage the programme and impact. You will need to be highly organised and proactive and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Role of the Senior Community Grants Support & Performance Officer
In this role, you will be responsible for increasing understanding, supporting behaviour change and growing and diversifying the blood, deceased organ and living kidney donor base through effective operational and performance management of the Community Grants Programme. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the operational and performance management of a crucial programme, delivering clear outcomes against our key strategic priorities.
- Responsible for overseeing and implementing robust grant management and evaluation processes and systems across the end-to-end grant process
- Support the delivery of the Community Grants Programme within the Donor Experience directorate.
- Lead on key functions of the programme throughout the end-to-end grant process, whilst also managing the day-to-day operational effectiveness of the programme.
- Lead on managing multiple external relationships; providing effective project advisory support to external funded partners, and a grant management agency to ensure optimal grant activities.
- Support multiple internal team relationships to establish cross-collaborative working processes to amplify the impact of the grants programme.
- Manage all grants programme communication whilst developing engaging communication strategies and platforms.
- Develop performance frameworks and produce regular reports to share to key internal and external audiences on the grants programme activity.
Required Experience and Knowledge
- Experience of working with information technology using Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint)
- Successful track record of Community Engagement at a operational level within an organisation of comparable scope, size and complexity.
- Experience in a stakeholder engagement role and of developing, delivering and evaluating stakeholder engagement programmes
- Demonstrable commitment to diversity and equality
- Specialist understanding of using attitudinal insight and applying behaviour change techniques and of developing and using data to inform continuous improvement and decision-making
- Experience of working with community groups in a professional or personal capacity
Qualifications and Training
- Specialist knowledge in the field of stakeholder engagement, plus significant relevant experience
- Degree or equivalent experience to Degree level
- Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)
