Ellison Scholars Undergraduate Programme 2026 (Fully-Funded)

Exceptionally talented individuals who have strong collaboration skills and the desire to make impact in the world, the Ellison Scholars Undergraduate Programme has opened its doors to you. You also get a chance to a fully-funded scholarship to study any course of your choice at the prestigious University of Oxford.
As a scholar, you collaborate with your colleagues and other world-leading experts to solve real-world problems, while pursuing your undergraduate programme. The research and innovation projects you will engage in are central to the Ellison Scholars Undergraduate Programme. Places on this programme are extremely liminted and highly competitive.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants will need to meet the University of Oxford’s entry requirements for their chosen undergraduate course. They must:
- Have, or be on track to be awarded, a secondary education/high school leaving qualification, diploma or certificate accepted by the University of Oxford.
- Have met, or be on track to meet, the minimum grade requirements for their chosen undergraduate course and
- Have met, or be on track to meet, the University’s English language requirements for their chosen undergraduate course.
Applicants who do not meet these criteria are strongly dissuaded from applying for this scholarship opportunity.
Internships for Undergraduate Ellison Scholars
For ten weeks of each “long vacation” (summer) between academic years, undergraduate Ellison Scholars will work with EIT teams on existing EIT programs that aim to solve big global problems through science and technology. Those internship projects will span one or more of the following Humane Endeavours, which provide focus areas for what EIT is trying to solve:
- Health & Medical Science
- Food Security & Sustainable Agriculture
- Clean Energy & Climate Change
- Government Innovation in the Era of AI
Scholars will bring their relevant skills, experiences or interests in areas such as AI & data, economics & policy, generative biology, robotics, engineering,chemistry, physics, biology, computer science, mathematics, medicine and law into the internship projects.
Application Timeline:
May – July 2025
Application window opens on 1 May and closes on 31 July.
Semi-finalist selection
September – October 2025
Semi-finalists are selected and invited to submit their applications to the University of Oxford. Applicants must follow the University’s separate and independent admissions process.
Finalists identified
January – February 2026
Semi-finalists who receive an offer of admission from the University of Oxford automatically progress to the finalist stage. Finalists are invited to interviews conducted by the EIT Faculty of Fellows.
Ellison Scholars announced
March – April 2026
Ellison Scholars are selected, onboarded and announced. Supported by the Ellison Scholars team as they prepare for their arrival in Oxford.
Scholars begin their studies
October 2026
Ellison Scholars start their first academic year at the University of Oxford and their engagement with EIT Oxford.
