Global Futures Scholarship for Undergraduates
The University of Manchester is offering over 100 merit-based Global Futures Scholarships, each worth £24,000, to international undergraduate students. These scholarships, part of the Bicentenary Global Futures Scholarships for Africa, are open to students from Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
Award Details
- Each scholarship is £8,000 per year, awarded for the first three years of study, contingent upon achieving a 60% average each year.
- The award will be applied as a discount on the published overseas tuition fees.
- Eligible qualifications include A-levels, IB, South African Matric (NSC or IEB), and NCUK International Foundation Year.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be international fee-paying students domiciled in one of the eligible countries.
- They must have predominantly resided in one of these countries for the past three years.
- Students must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2025 and be self-funded.
- The Global Futures scholarship does not apply to Medicine (MBChB), Dentistry (BDS), Architecture, or courses with an integrated foundation year.
- Applicants must choose The University of Manchester as their firm UCAS choice by 23 May 2025.
Application Process
- Eligible applicants will receive the application form after receiving an academic offer.
- Application deadlines depend on the qualifications taken:
- A-level, IB, and NCUK IFY students should apply by 24 April 2025.
- South African NSC/IEB and November series A-level students must apply by 13 March 2025.
Notification Dates
- Applicants for the South African NSC/IEB or November series A-level will be notified by 11 April 2025.
- Students taking A-level, IB, or NCUK IFY in 2025 will be notified by 23 May 2025.
