NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge
Leveraging technology and innovation to address critical infrastructure challenges in Nigeria is essential for the country’s development. This is why the NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation has established this initiative to empower Nigerians.
The NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation participants will work as a team to develop innovative digital maps of one Nigerian state. They are expected to focus on key infrastructure elements like schools, utilities, hospitals, and roads. This initiative will provide valuable insights that can support sustainable development in the country.

Team Tasks
Participants of the NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge will work together to:
- Identify critical infrastructure based on the challenge’s focus areas within their selected state.
- Utilize mapping and visualization tools to produce comprehensive, interactive digital maps.
- Present the infrastructure findings in a compelling manner, highlighting both needs and opportunities.
- Submit a URL to their completed digital map showcasing the identified infrastructure and insights.
Eligibility Requirements
- Nigerian Citizenship: All participants must be Nigerian citizens and must provide valid identification (National ID, Voter’s Card, International Passport, or Driver’s License).
- Age Limit: Participants must be 18 years or older at the time of registration.
- Team Composition: Each team must consist of 2 to 5 members, blending technical and non-technical expertise to encourage diverse problem-solving. Only team entries will be accepted—individual applications are not allowed.
Focus Areas for Mapping
Teams must select at least one key area for their project from the following categories:
- Healthcare: Hospitals, clinics, and health centers.
- Education: Schools, colleges, and universities.
- Transportation: Roads, bridges, and public transit systems.
- Utilities: Water supply, electricity, and waste management.
- Public Services: Police stations, fire stations, post offices, and government offices.
