Eligibility Requirements

• No age limit for applicants.
• Affiliation with an eligible Irish higher education institution or research-performing organization is mandatory.
• Applications are accepted in Irish or English.
• Applicants are limited to two previous unsuccessful applications to the relevant program.

For new entrants to the postgraduate degree they seek funding for, the funding duration is as follows:

• Research master’s degree: 1 year.
• Structured research master’s degree: 2 years.
• Traditional doctoral degree: 3 years.
• Structured doctoral degree: 4 years.

Benefits

The scholarship offers up to €31,000 annually, which includes:

• A stipend of €22,000 per annum.
• A contribution toward fees (including non-EU fees) up to €5,750 per annum.
• Research-related expenses of €3,250 per annum.
