Queen Elizabeth Prize for Innovation in Engineering
There is a prestigious international award for individuals who have engineering innovations from all sectors available. This is the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Innovation in Engineering (QEPrize) which recognizes a wide array of these innovations all over the world.
Nominations for the Queen Elizabeth Prize is currently ongoing and you cannot self-nominate yourself for this prize, neither can you nominate a person who is already dead. Do check below for more information about this award:
Prize
The QEPrize, valued at £500,000, is the world’s most esteemed engineering accolade. It is awarded to up to ten engineers who have contributed to a significant, groundbreaking engineering innovation that benefits humanity on a global scale.
Criteria
Judges will consider the following criteria to select the winner(s):
- Innovation: What groundbreaking engineering innovation has the nominee (or up to ten nominees) achieved?
- Global Benefit: How has this innovation positively impacted humanity on a global scale?
- Contribution: Are there others who played a pivotal role in this innovation?
Process
Please review the Prize Rules & Conditions before submitting your nomination.
- Nominations are managed online.
- Nominees will receive an email notifying them of their nomination.
- Referees will be invited to support the nomination by submitting their references on the website.
- Eligible nominations will be forwarded to the judges for consideration.
Nominations Checklist
- Does the innovation have a global impact?
- Can you identify up to ten engineers responsible for the innovation?
- Do you have sufficient information to write a compelling nomination case?
- Can you identify at least two referees who are familiar with the innovation and can support the nomination?
